Predictors of Neurological Deterioration during Admission for Patients with Cerebellar Strokes

چکیده
Objective: Despite less common, cerebellar stroke frequently results in unfavorable outcomes, especially after deterioration. Therefore, this study was aimedto identify the significant predictors of neurological deterioration during admission (NDDA) ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.Material Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all medical records patients diagnosed with strokes; 2002-2018, Songklanagarind Hospital. Comparison patients’ demographic data, initial clinical presentations, neuroradiological results, timing signs NDDA, outcomes between strokes were descriptively analyzed. Logistic regression model applied for determining NDDA from presentations. Results: From this, 74 100 eligible. They comprised 42 (57.0%) ischemia (CI) 32 (43.0%) hemorrhage (CH). Elevated diastolic blood pressure (DBP) neuro-radiological evidences suggesting increased posterior cranial fossa significantly prevalent patients. found 31 (42.0%), without difference CI CH. (56.8%), had poor outcomes. The independent DBP 120 mmHg (adjusted odds ratio [adj. OR] 15.39, 95% 1.58- 149.59; p-value=0.004), time onset to arrival (adj. OR 0.98, 0.97-1.00; p-value=0.044), hemispheric at presentation 0.22, 0.06-0.75; p-value=0.012).Conclusion: CH not an predictor overall strokes. Only high predicted NDDA; whereas, arrival, showed protective impact.

Time course and predictors of neurological deterioration after intracerebral hemorrhage.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Neurological deterioration (ND) is a devastating complication after intracerebral hemorrhage but little is known about time course and predictors. METHODS We performed a retrospective cohort study of placebo patients in intracerebral hemorrhage trials. We performed computed tomographic scans within 3 hours of symptoms and at 24 and 72 hours; and clinical evaluations at ...

IntroductionChildren with severe asthma attack are a challenging group of patients who could be difficult to treat and leading to significant morbidity and mortality. Asthma attack severity is qualitatively estimated as mild, moderate and severe attacks and respiratory failure based on conditions such as respiration status, feeling of dyspnea, and the degree of unconsciousness. part of which ar...
متن کاملMechanisms, predictors and clinical impact of early neurological deterioration: the protocol of the Trondheim early neurological deterioration study
BACKGROUND 10-40% of patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) suffer an early neurological deterioration (END), which may influence their long term prognosis. Multiple definitions of END exist, even in recently published papers. In the search for causes, various biochemical, clinical, and imaging markers have been found to be associated to END after AIS in some but not in other studies. The pr...

OBJECT Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) results in significant morbidity and mortality, even among patients who reach medical attention in good neurological condition. Many patients have neurological decline in the perioperative period, which contributes to long-term outcomes. The focus of this study is to characterize the incidence of, characteristics predictive of, and outcomes associated with a...
متن کاملNeurological deterioration in patients with first-ever ischemic stroke.
A study was conducted for 121 patients (55 female, 66 male; age 68.7 +/- 10.4 years) with first-ever ischemic stroke to investigate the frequency and risk factors of early neurological deterioration (ND). The initial evaluation was carried out within 24 hours of stroke onset. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score and Barthel index were used to evaluate patients for a period of 2 mont...
